Yesterday, The Musing Housewife turned 2.
So much has changed since then but most has stayed the same.
I started The Musing Housewife because I wanted somewhere to record the lead up to our wedding, the house we had just moved into turning into our home, the growth of our children and our general family life.
Our wedding has now happened! We have been married for 14 months. Married life has changed us unexpectedly. I always maintained it was ‘just a bit of paper’ and it ‘wouldn’t change anything’ but it has. Our attitudes towards each other seem to have changed. I think marriage, in some respects, puts more pressure on the relationship. That pressure, though, only comes from within the marriage. With that said I love being married and enjoy hearing Mrs in front of my name.
We have been living in our home for over 2 years now. It is our home because our hearts are all here but our plans to redecorate haven’t been fulfilled. The only room we have managed to redecorate is our living room, but even that has no carpet. The rest of the rooms also have no carpets but one of my biggest ‘to do’s’ in 2015 is to get the carpets laid in the whole house.
Our children have grown. Boyo is now a flourishing 9 year old and he has just been to Llangrannog for the weekend with the school. Princess Pants is almost 5 and after starting full time school in September she is really coming into her own.
Our family has also grown with the arrival of Baby Comma. He has enriched our lives but I think we underestimated how much his arrival would alter our lives, particularly with me developing post-natal depression.
The last two years have brought huge changes and we have made it through and I wouldn’t change any of it… The Musing Housewife will continue to grow with us and I look forward to seeing what the next 2 years brings.
