A growing child brings all sorts of challenges, but having a pre-tween is something else. One of the latest challenges comes in the form of pocket money. It is something I’m struggling to be consistent with.
We encourage Boyo to help around the house in order to earn his pocket money. He has a number of things he has to do in order to earn his pocket money.
- If Boyo folds his school clothes up all week he earns £1.
- If Boyo’s bedroom is tidy on a Friday night, he earns 50p.
- If Boyo eats his dinner all week, he earns £1.
- If Boyo does his homework, he earns 50p.
There are other things that will earn him the odd extra 50p, such as exceptional behaviour; being extra kind to his sister; and other little things.
Pocket money is an issue for all parents. How do your children earn their pocket money?
